Peter Weber

Pictured here is the death certificate of Peter Weber. Peter was my grandmother, Eva Rose Weber's brother. Grandma use to tell me was that she was told by her father that Peter died young.

I finally found this death certificate for Peter a few years after Grandma passed away.

Peter was interred at St. Boniface Cemetery, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. A call to the cemetery found that he was interred in a term grave which term for use was only 20 years. This detail shows the level of poverty of this young family. One must think it was very difficult for this young couple to bury their nearly three year old son with their three older sons Joseph Peter (10), Michael Wendel(8) and John P.(6) requiring their attention as well.

Eva Rose Weber

He's another great photo of my grandmother Eva Rose Weber. Grandma grew up in Chicago around the streets where gangsters operated. She once told me the story of the morning she walked to school and passed a group of kids that were dipping little pieces of paper into a pool of blood. Turns out this was a crime scene of the shootout between the infamous gangster John Dillinger and the FBI. Grandma would have been about 12 years old when Dillinger was killed by the FBI.
